You have found your new home, but the move is still ahead of you. We would like to offer you a few practical tips to ensure that your move goes smoothly.

Before the move

• Set a movin date fest.

• Cancel your Phone, Internet, Radio and Television ab. Beantragen Sie die Herstellung Ihrer Neuanschlüsse.

• Testen Sie die neue Fahrtstrecke zu Ihrem Arbeitgeber (Zeitaufwand, Ausweichrouten etc.).
• Sorgen Sie für die erforderliche Anzahl an Schlüsseln für die Wohnungseingangstür vor.

During the move

• Instruieren Sie die Möbelpacker, wo jedes Stück hingestellt werden soll, geben sie ihnen eine Kopie des Möbelplanes. (Eine kleine Stärkung für die Arbeitsmannschaft beflügelt sicher auch deren Arbeitseifer!).
• Transport damages (auch in Treppenhäusern) vom Spediteur schriftlich bestätigen lassen.
• Carry out an inspection durch. Fertigen Sie ein schriftliches Protokoll an und lassen Sie es vom Vermieter unterschreiben.

After the move

• Registration or deregistration at the responsible district office.. Mitzubringen sind: alter/neuer Meldezettel (Internet oder bei Ihrer zuständigen Hausverwaltung) Geburtsurkunde, Lichtbildausweis, Mietvertrag. Sollten sich Schule bzw. Kindergarten Ihrer Kinder nicht geändert haben, geben Sie bitte dort ihre neue Adresse und Telefonnummer bekannt.

• Inform your insurance company den Wohnungswechsel mit.
• Inform your bank die neue Adresse bekannt bzw.  klären Sie den Wechsel der betreuenden Bankfiliale.
• Informieren Sie Bekannte, Verwandte, Vereine, Clubs  etc. vom Umzug.
• Montieren Sie Ihr neues Türschild, veranlassen Sie die Änderung des Namens an der Gegensprechanlage.
• Wollen Sie eine „Einstandsparty“ feiern, bitten Sie Ihre Nachbarn um Verständnis, falls dies etwas „geräuschvoller“ ausfallen könnte. Oder Sie laden Ihre Nachbarn gleich dazu ein – eine gute Gelegenheit, sich kennenzulernen.
